District Activities for Cub Scouts
Derbys provide a great opportunity for you and your son to spend time together building skills, confidence and memories. It is also a chance for both you and your Cub Scout to practice the three steps of self-leadership described in the Cub Scout Handbook:
- Having a vision of where you want to be
- Figuring out the steps to get there
- Completing those steps one at a time
If this is your first time, you might feel a little lost. But don’t worry. You’ll find a lot of support from Scout Leaders and from adults with previous Derby experience. Ask them for advice when you need it. You and your Cub Scout will have a successful experience.
Your Cub Scout is excited about entering a car in a Pinewood Derby®. It’s a great opportunity for you and your son to spend time together working on a fun project. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and "Show & Shine" of the Pack Pinewood Derby participate in the District Pinewood Derby.
Regatta® is another awesome event because Cub Scouts are actively involved every step of the way, from envisioning and creating their sleek sailing machines to using their own breath to propel them! 1st, 2nd and 3rd of the Pack Raingutter Regatta represent their pack in the District Regatta.
